tire suggestions

i am pretty new to the wheel tire suspension thing and am wanting to get some new tires on my truck soon.

its a 04 heritage s-cab 2wd, so i will be getting a leveling kit and 3inch body lift on it.

i want to keep my stock wheels cuz i dont have a lot of money to spend at the moment, they are 16 inches by 7 inches wide. right now they have some wild country 255/70R16 radials. i am looking for some that have a more aggressive tread but still get decent highway miles.

what brand/type and size tires would you guys suggest?

remember im not a richer either so they need to be reasonably priced tires.

thanks for the help

I just got a set of Nitto Terra Grapplers and I'm loving them. Check them out. They're reasonably priced too. Check Discount Tire Direct. I ordered mine through them off of ebay.

more agressive tread pattern than the wild countrys! id say take a look at the Cooper STT, Maxxis Bighorns, Maxxis Buckshots, Toyo M/T (expensive), Mickey Thompson MTZ, BFG KM2.

Now being that you have a 2wd you can get an A/T and be fine

Take a look at the BFG AT, Toyo AT, Mickey Thompson ATZ, Procomp Extreme AT, Nitto Terra Grappler,

33" or 35" tire will be fine... im not certain on the metric sizes im thinking its 305/70-16 = 32.8 x 12
315/75-16 = 34.6 x 12

with the stock wheels you could run either or these

I'd suggest a 285/75-16 (33x11.50) if you are keepng the oem wheels.

Anything over a 285mm wide tire is getting a little too wide for the oem 7 inch wide wheels.

I went with 295s on my stock wheels, but I think the OEM wheels on the 04+ are 7.5" wide, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

He has an 04 Heritige Edition which is the same as the 97-03 trucks. They came with 16x7's or 17x7.5 wheels.

the problem with going with a wider tire 305 or 315 is that the tread will crown in the middle thus causing the middle to wear down faster!
