mileage out of the Terra Grapplers???

I keep going back and forth between the TG's and BFG's. I have had the BFG's before on my old 84 Toyota - got 80K miles on those suckers. They were great. Never had a flat, or anything.

I am thinking about the TG becuase they offer an interesting size - 295/70/r17 that should fit on my stock rims and because they are somewhat cheeper.

However if they only get, let's say, 40K miles, then i would have to replace them in about 2.5 years or less. I'd rather spend the extra and get the BFG's.

So just wondering what kind of miles you folks get on the TG's???

thanks.

I don't know personally but I am buying a set of used 295/70R17 TG's. I gave $300 for them from a good friend. They have @15K on them and still look really good. The guy at the tire shop we use says most folks around here get 50-60K out of them.

I'd be interested in seeing how that size looks mounted up when you get done.

The Terragrapplers are a great tire. However, if you are looking for the longest lasting AT, go with the BFG TA KO's. I've read report after report from guys like you have had great experience with them.

I've had mine on for about 15K.. I can't even tell that they've been worn except the little nipples finally went away about a month ago.

295/70s are nice. Shoulda gone 305/70s though. Not enough difference to buy em again now though.

Would 305's fit

with just the AS 2.5 kit? I am pondering this for an 03 Expy 4x4. Not sure if the fitment is the same or not?

fx4tough, you must have had bad luck because I think you are the first person to not like the nittos. There are lots of reports of people getting many miles out of them. I dont know if they are as good as BFG but I would not say that they suck.
