What's the biggest tire I can fit?

Hey all,

I have my stock 04 Lariat but I really want a meaner look. I'm thinking aftermarket 18's with a beefy tire. What is the largest and meanest I can go without getting a whole body lift and spending an *** load of money. I've been reading...Leveling Kit in the Front End and I should be good, right? So...what should I throw on my baby to make it a beast?

Thanks for your time~DonP

First off a body lift will only run you about $300, but IMO they are junk. If you kept the stock rims and got a 2.5" leveling kit you could run 35's but if you go aftermarket 33's will be the max. The aftermarket wheels you get should be atleast 9" wide and have 5" of backspace.

hmmm....so what would be the specs I'm looking for on a 35" tire for my stock 18's, and 33's on an aftermarket 18 x 9? Looking for the Beef! What is the width of the OEM wheels on there now?

Thank you sir(s).

Leveled you can use a 35x12.5x18 or a 305x65x18 which is a 34" tire ,BFG makes this in an all terrain. Aftermaket wheels it's better to stick with a 33" with the size wheel you mentioned. You can also go down to a 17" wheel like I did on my truck and have some more tire choices.

You can fit 35s on an aftermarket wheel, but the specs have to be identical(or very very very close) to oem wheels.

I'd suggest adding an Autospring leveling kit and a set of 325/60-18 (33x13.00) tires on an 18x9 inch aftermarket wheel with 5 to 6 inches of backspacing. Your OEM wheels are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing.

There is no such thing. You have to use 17 inch or larger wheels to fit over the brakes on the 04-08's.

one of my favorite looks for a truck is 35/12.50/18's bfg mud terrains on the stock lariat wheels... (with the AS 2.5 of course) ... i think it looks sharp!
