02 4x4 tire size / Firestone MT
I currently have Bridgestone Revo 265/75 16's / stock rims on my '02 4WD Scab - The tires are shot and I am looking around at different options - nothing wrong with the Revos - Just looking at something different
Any opinions on the Firestone M/T's? They seem to have great reviews on Tire Rack and they look pretty cool. I do a bunch of road driving and some off-road on weekends -
I looked at the 285/75's 16 but am worried they will not fit without messing around with the suspension. - But if I did go with them, can I crank up the tortion bars and then do I need blocks in the back to level? Would get an alignment at time of installation / torque bar adjustment Or would they just drop in? Would I also then need to change the gearing?
Thanks!

Looking at the bolts on the T-bars, I have maybe 3/8" of open thread from the key to bottom out on the bolt - Seems to be roughly the same clearance above the key to the frame
Is it a 1 to 1 ratio on turning the bolt to the amount of lift?
Any guess how much I need to gain for the 33's? According to Tire Racks chart the p26 75's are 31.5 (a size or two over what it came with) - When I look at the clearance now it seems I will have plenty of room ??? Does this make sense?? (turned wheel from one extreme to the next)
Thanks

Wow.... I was told by a local shop that not only did I need to adjust the t-bars but I also needed aftermarket keys to make them (tires) fit. Then blocks in the rear. All at a cost that seemed way off.
The guy that installs my tires will handle the alignment at the time as well as any required adjustments. Scary that is all it takes compared to my other quote!
Thanks for your input and I am now anxious to see if the Firestone Destination MT's are all the reviews say they are.

aftermarket keys, a bad idea......and no block needed.....
I second the getting the t-bars cranked for looks (but not needing it for 285's), that is the situation I had, I had 285's w/out the bars cranked but decided to do it for looks and am glad I did!
the destination mt's are good tires from my observation, my buddy has them on his gmc and is happy with them......
