The cheap rotors from these places are garbage, they warp very easy.

Carquest blues are brake pads that work great, they are semi-metallic. I have R1 rotors and they work great.

Ok thanks for the insight. I looked at the R1's online. Are the replacement OEM's any good or do you run the slotted ones?

FWIW, on the heritage trucks, I had just as much trouble with good quality, say Raybestos rotors as I did with the el cheapo store brand. Unless your going to pony up for the big dollar rotors, buy the cheap ones.

Rotors are rotors to me, typically they offer at least 2 choices, thicker is usually the more expensive so i like them for added assurance. Pads are where to pay attention because they offer more brands. There you should get a good semi-metallic with a warranty against excessive wear but mostly dust and noise.

Really? Is that a Yankee thing? You dont turn your rotors? They dont squeek and squeel like Erkel on helium?

no, what i meant was the rotors themselves are machined and given a new surface. but now that you mention it, it has to be a yankee thing. when i lived in fayetteville, NC even autozone had a rotor machine and would turn them for 6$ a rotor.

I have gotten mine turned or cut a few times before they got replaced, the original rotors that is. Once I'm due for front pads again, I'll likely turn these rather than replace them. The rears are gonna be replaced pretty soon as they are originals and are looking pretty old.

Alot of times, if what you have is good enough for just turning or resurfacing, do it. Sometimes the cheapest rotor is just that because when the pads go, the rotor is either warped or too thin to cut. Just weigh your options, often replacing with new rotors is too cheap not to.

I got slotted and dimpled with there kevlar pads. Great price and stopping is a lot better. BTW I paid $402 for front and rear rotors and pads all around shipped to my door.
