Are slotted rotors better than factory?

I just had all 4 of my disc brakes done. I only have 19,000 miles and my rear brake pads were gone. My rotors were so warped that I will only get one turn out of them. So, it looks like I will need to buy some new rotors for the next time. I was told that I should get the slotted rotor because they won't warp as much. He recommended Powerslot. Is this good advice? Please give me your opinions. Thanks.

The Powerslots with Hawk pads are going to be a huge difference compared to stock. They'll stop better than your truck did with stock tires. Good luck getting some though, no one has them in stock and Powerslot is shipping out in 2-3 weeks. I've had mine on order forever. I've got all of them but one rotor!

I just had my brakes done, so I have some time before I will need them. Not sure how long my factory rotors will last after being resurfaced. I am definately not buying the factory rotors again.

I've got them on my Mustang, I only wash the wheels every other time I wash the car.

I'm still waiting on the front left rotor before putting everything on my truck.

Yeah, that's what the guy told me. Powerslots and Hawk pads. How much did you get the rotors for? I found the front pair for $189 free shipping. Is that a good price?

It's pretty much the going rate. The shipping is a benefit though.

Anything is better than factory! I was looking into some Powerslot rotors as well. What's turning me off is that no one has them in stock! I'm thinking about R1 Concept rotors, but I don't know to much about them!

I'd just want for the Powerslots, whats another 2-3 weeks for a better product IMO?

I've been waiting months, consider yourself lucky that you only have to wait 2-3 weeks! LOL

So who does the job when the truck is still under warrenty? Will Ford stick the aftermarket in?
Just asking cause mine dusts alot and the dealer said I might need new brakes next oil change 6mm in front and 5 mm in the back he also said the oil was starting to get discolered and that would be $107 to cahnge
is this normal?

Thanks

Nothing is better than factory. Anything that removes metal from the rotor is bad. Slots helped MANY years ago when pads weren't manufactured as well as they are today, and cross-drilling helps on oversized (racing) rotors, but both only hurt on trucks.

I got Slotted and dimpled from R1 concepts with kevlar pads. They stop 100% better then stock. I have 33s on my truck and they do a fantastic job stopping my truck. $402 for all 4 rotors and pads delivered to my door. Only down side it that the pads still create dust, not as much as stock but still a good amount.

Well, FWIW, my buddy put expensive HAWK powerslots and HAWK pads on his Ranger and he's had a fair amount of disappointment.

For starters, the dust, albeit better than stock was worse than he had hoped (But, given they are performance pads it was acceptable). He also had continual issues with squeaking, despite many attempts at silencing it with all methods available.

Beyond that, I think they were wearing a bit unevenly and leading to possible cracks on the rotors. The sad thing is he doesn't drive hard AT ALL.

Now, no matter what product you go with there will always be someone with a story like that, so take it with a grain of salt, but I just wanted to share

If you have larger wheels and tires, or do heavy towing , or racing than I can see the need for slotted rotors and maybe ceramic pads. I don't do any of that, just city and highway driving and lots of it. I am totally happy with the Raybestos replacement rotors and the Wagner Thermo Quiet pads. Very little dust, no noise, smooth braking. Now have 44,000 on the front pads and still have well over 50% of the pad remaining.
