M/T ot A/T

For those of you that are young (and also those that remember being young), if you had the 7.5 Fabtech lift, would you go with mud terrain or an all terrain. I understand the practicalities(sp.?), but things don't always have to be practical when you are young.Lotta hunting, a little off roading, so mostly on road driving. So if somebody just gave them to you, what would you take? Thanks!

Me personally, I like the look of the M/Ts better. They look more agressive and as long as you rotate them routinely, you can get almost as much use out of them as A/Ts. I've been running buckshot mudders on my screw for a while now and I love the look, the wear is good and they aren't too loud. Just my 2 cents.

I'm with JK. Althought the A/T do last longer, I would never buy any for a truck. The M/T looks SOOO much nicer. They give ANY truck the more aggressive, "real tough truck" look it deserves. Plus if you do any off-roading, and hunting during winter, on a super muddy trail, you will be wanting the grip of a M/T. just IMO. A/T limits where/how far you can go vs. M/T limits how long between tire changes... which one matters most is up to you.

I could not agree more. I had all terrains on my truck for 10,000 miles, and I got rid of them and put 35 inch BFG Muds on. I drive about 76 miles a day and I have about 3 thousand on them and they look brand new. I could care less if I they wear 10,000 miles quicker than the AT's cause my truck looks that much better. Go with the muds.

If you can afford muds go for it for sure! I'm 17 and really wanted to go with muds but there is no way in hell that I can afford new tires every 1-2 years. Maybe someday but not now.

i had BFG allterrains on a my old jeep and they wore horribly. i rotated them according to schedule and they justwent down hill quickly. yet i had friends who had the mud terrains and they looked amazing after 10000 miles. id def go with the mud terrains. plus they grip like no other!

I was hoping for those answers. They do look so much better. I just did not not want to make a major mistake at these prices. Thanks.

I know you are talking price, but give me an example, cause my 35 BFG muds were only like 150 more than my 305/65/18 All terrains, I and that to me is worth it, but you are right, people are diff. But if it is within a couple hundred bucks I think it is a no brainer, cant tell you how many more people approach me now about how good my truck looks than before when I had the At's. Just my two cents. But think about the long run, you might have them two to three years, after that the 200 bucks looks like nothing. Good luck, but you going for best looks I think muds are the way to go, Just my opinion.

How about siping MTs?

Would siping the mud terrain tires improve their on road traction, and decrease their wear? Up north, in the old days, siped tires were very common for those reasons before they started including it from the factory.
