Need advice on tires and lift.

Whats up guys? I have a 2007 supercrew lariat 4x4 with the stock OEM 20" wheels. I want to upgrade in tire size, but cannot make up my mind what setup I want. I have always been a BFG fan so that is the tire I will probably be goin with.

What to yall think?

1. 285 BFG with no lift
2. 285 BFG with 2" or 2.5" level
3. 305 BFG with 2" or 2.5" level

Please post pics of similar set ups

305's with 2.5"

There are alot of people running the 305's with the 2.5" leveling kit. In my opinion, they look better than the 285's. I will be going that route very soon. Someone will chime in with some pic's.

I like the look of the 285/65/20 BFG All Terrains. Is this like a 34 11.50? What lift would I need to fit these?

YOu can fit those with a 2 or 2.5 inch leveling kit. I'd go with the leveling kit with any of those tires.

Would the 2" or the 2.5" with the 1.5" rear look better with the 285/65/20? I just want it to sit fairly level and I would like the tires to fill the fender well. There are so many options and I am having trouble making up my mind. I like the look of KOKANEE truck. I believe he has a 2.5 with the 1.5 rear and the 285/65/20.

I'd go with the 305's if you want to fill the well's!

Sorry for all the questions...but arent the 285/65/20 taller than the 305's. I thought that the 285/65/20 are around 34" tall while the 305's are around 33". Its the height that I wondering about not so much the width. I know that BFG makes a 285/55/20 that is about 33" tall, but I was wondering about the 285/65/20. Thanks for all of you help so far.

I believe the 285/65-20's are around 34 inches tall. Check BFG's website for the exact height.

Here is my 07 4x4 with no lift, I have 305/55/20. The 285/65/20 is over an inch taller than this tire but not as wide. I would say you will need the level kit for the 34's but you do not need the kit for 305/55/20's on stock rims.

the 285 and 305 is the width of the tire. In millimeters. The 65 gives you your height. It would be 65% of 285 or 305 so the 305 will be taller. Then the last number is your wheel size.

Thats correct, but I think he is talking about either a 305/50/20 or 305/55/20 as to which the 285/65/20 is taller than both.

Yes Raptor that is what I was talkin about. I think I am either goin to go with the 305/50/20 or the 30/55/20 with no lift....or either with the 285/65/20 with a leveling kit. Thanks for all the help fellas!

With no lift I would go 305/55/20, with the leveling kit I would go 285/65/20. The extra height will fill out the fender better than the 305/55.
