need help with kmc diesel

I have a 04 single cab i have the front leveled 2 inches. yesterday I called National Tire and wheel to price the Kmc Diesel 766's in 17x9 with 5 inches of back spacing the guy tells me that the computer says that they wont fit my truck, I was under the impression that ford changed the brakes in middle 05 so that some 17's wont fit. My truck was actually made in 09 of 03. any help is welcome

I can't think of any reason they wouldn't fit your truck.

There computers probably just have a modest setting close to factory specs so a lot of specs that will work for your truck will come up as a no go. Just find what you want and try to search for a user with similiar specs. And look at lot and lots of pics.

18x9 Diesels on a 2004
Brakes would not be a problem for the wheels, even with 17's. The only problem with 17's on my truck might be the lift.

what size do you have on there now? as a rule of thumb, we don't suggest going down a wheel size....

You will be fine, if you have a 4x4. If you have any rubbing (and I doubt you will), it will be very minor.

I am thinking about not getting the diesels, every website says that they have the 17x9 in the 6x135 pattern come to find out kmc never made the rim in that bolt pattern because of fittment on the new f150's so i decided to go with the 18x9 diesels and they are now back ordered for at least 60 days. So now I am thinking about going with the helo max 6 rims in black should i wait or get the helo's
