Pirelli Scorpion Question

I have a 2006 F150 Lariat equipped with Pirelli Scorpion 20" tires. At 28000 miles these tires are starting to rot. Dealer says this is normal and that these tires are only rated at 30000miles. No warranties, no nothing......go get new tires!

Any comments would be greatly appreciated

Most companies put poor quality tires on their vehicles to keep cost down.

The tires and wheels were an upgrade with most of the market price going towards the wheels, not the tires.

BTW, the Scorpians have excellent feedback by owners reported @ Tirerack.

While it may not get you anywhere, try contacting Pirelli directly and talk to them about the rot issue.

Pirelli Tyre North America
Consumer Affairs Group
Consumer Affairs phone number 1-800-747-3554 (1-800-Pirelli)

Plus, look in your owners manual package and you should see the tire manufacturer's warranty statement. Might find something helpful there. FWIW, Pirelli has a 50K mile on these tires, when not OEM's, Tire Rack lists them at 40K.

Try another dealer, while your at it.
