Carquest blue brake pads revisited

Guys,

I know there has been some talk about how good the Carquest semi metallic blue pad are vs OEM. I was just wondering if anyone has tried the their Ceramic blue pads as well. When you call these Carquest stores they will inform you right away that if you want less or no brake dust, then the Ceramic blues are the way to go, not semi-metallic.

Just curious if anyone has used the ceramic versions. I know one person on here does, but I do not have PM privileges it would seem because I don't have enough posts or some bogus reason to that effect.

Thanks,
Tom

i installed the ceramic blue carquest pads just a couple of weeks ago. they seem to work as good or better then my orginals. only time will tell how many miles i'll get out of them and how hard they are on the new rotors. i was told the factory ones on my 03 supercrew 4x4 were ceramic. if that was the case then i should easily get 50000 miles on these as well (hopefully). so far i like them.

I sure hope the ceramics "cleaned up their act" sorta speak. I still say there is proof my semi-metallics are the real deal. Hey sgauthier, live anywhere's near Windsor?

Man, I'm telling you it's retarded how little I get, after weeks and normal conditions, maybe rain one time it is almost not noticed even after rubbing your finger down it. There always will be some, but I've seen the Lord and he handed me these pads. I don't have the invoice right here to get a part # but I've always gotten second to most expensive at Carquest, BMD711 I'm sure the number is, the ceramics were twice the price and GMD711, B for "blue" and G for "gold" is how I remember them. I have a box downstairs, I keep the box in case of warranty and it says semi-metallics.

I've had the Blue-semis on for about 25,000 miles now. No dust and good wear so far. Mine came with a lifetime warranty so new ones will be free when I need to replace them. Picked mine up at a local chain (Murrays).

Keep us updated. I have some worthless Porterfield pads that I am looking to replace soon. Also, any chance anyone here knows where to get the best deal?

If any of you have the part number for the blue semi metallics, can you post it? Also, I assume the same part number would work for all the 04's to '06 and '07's???

An update Lumadar is this is my second set. I have had these babies since 80k km's front and 110k km's rear, having almost 190k km's now so it's been a while. Whatever the cost or deals you can swing, great but whatever you pay is money well spent.

When I bought them, they were like 180 bucks Canadian $$, so basically got the semi-metallics for half that and no more pains in the ****.

There is the other mfgr of pads with not one bad thing to say about them, Wagner made pads, same as Raybestos "blue" from Carquest.
