I had my wheels off this past weekend cleaning them and to tell you the truth I don't know how 16s fit on there, it is tight.

My sister's boyfriend knew a guy who's cousin personally tried.
The guy who my sister's boyfriend knew said his cousin was pretty upset with who sold him the 15" rims for his F-150.
I wasn't there but, that's the way it was told to me the best I can recall.

I think the 15" fit the 1996 model and earlier models but 97 and up need 16" minimum.

Here's another vote for your Outlaws not fitting. But since you don't seem to believe the fine people here, why not pull a front wheel off your truck and see if the rim fits. It wont....

I have read on here over the years that there were a couple people who got 15" wheels on their 97-03 F-150's. IIRC, they needed to have almost zero backspacing so that the wheels would stick out so far enough to not even be over the calipers.

But, the real answer is don't bother.

Exactly. Also, how many 15 inch wheels with the 5x135mm bolt pattern have you looked at?

I think Ive read of some of the Lightning guys grinding down calipers so they could get 15's to fit for slicks Not something I would want to do.

So...possible...I spose, but reasonable/safe?? I dont see how.

Explanation: The F-150 is being used as a chase truck for the Baja 1000 this November. We received 33's from Pit Bull Tires (one of our sponsors) in the 15" flavor.......we are running AR Outlaws on our Baja Jeep and wanted to our chase truck to match. Tires are sitting in our shop already. It just came across me the other day about 15's having a problem fitting. Anyways, measured today and looks like they are gonna fit, may have to do a little grinding if any. Hopefully they offer that wheel in that bolt pattern, but I know AR has a few others that fit.

For those that care, the F-150 is a 1998 extended cab 4.6L and will be running an add a leaf in the rear and high rise fenders (Baja style) in the front running 33X12.5X15 Pit Bull Growlers on AR Outlaws. If I think about it I will post some pics up here when its done......

Checked and they dont make an Outlaw wheel in that bolt pattern. AR has their BAJA wheel that fits though, may go with that. Reason that we dint go with a 16" wheel from the beginning is that the Growlers in 33X12.50X16 are a 10 ply tire. Chasing for the Baja is already gonna be uncomfortable but we were trying to make it as comfortable as possible.
