For off road and tread longevity on pavement.

I was getting upwards to 45K+ miles with the Buckshots. Closer to 35 with the BFGs. I really can't explain why and your milage may vary. I know with the BFG AT KOs I can easily expect 50K+ before I need to replace. And they serve me very well on and off road.

Of course keeping them rotated, balanced, and properly inflated will play a major role in the longevity of any tire. That responibilty is placed soley on the driver.

Best of luck,

thanks allot man it has BFG M/T's on it right now. and like i said, like 80% of my time will be on road, might be more then that. so an A/T would be a good choice. but i don't want to be screwed if i need to go off road and in the mud. and since i will be spending some time in northern Illinois next January, are A/t's, or M/T's the better choice for that weather? although, most of the time i'll be here in Tejas. since it has BFG M/T's on it now, i know about the noice. i heard it when i test drove it . but, other then DEEP mud, are the A/T's oh off-road in general? like maybe mud shallow mud? lol

Really hard to say what would be better for you without really seeing it. But in general, for wet boggy stuff or where you don't have really hard bottom like in mushy grassy areas, the mudders will work better. The cleats allow them spin mud out, creating better traction. The ATs can clog making them basically slicks in that type stuff.

The ATs can be very good in most any offroad envirnoment unless the tread clogs. If you can spin 'em fast enough they'll selfclean. But you could also be digging yourself deeper into a hole. The mudders can allow you to use less throttle, while keeping the lugs clean, to help you get better traction. Use your common sense to help you decide what would be better for the stuff you'll drive in.

Be aware that you can stick yourself with any tire.

try looking into the Mickey Thompson MTZs theyve been getting good reviews and you can find them relatively cheap on ebay. I got them for 860 to my door. Theyre really good in sloppy mud.
