Hey does my tow capability decrease with the OEM aluminum wheels ford offers on the 2005 crew versus the steel chrome clad wheels? Also does anybody know which weigh more, the steel or OEM aluminum wheels in the 17 inch rim size? Please note I have the Steel chrome clad wheels and I am looking at wheels and tires in the Aluminum OEM on ebay for $630 including shipping and the tires are Michelin LT AS tires brand new.

 

I don't think it will affect your tow rating much and I believe the chrome wheels should weigh a bit more than the alm ones.

 

chromed steel wheels of the same size will almost definitely weigh more. design and amount of material will be your variables
