tire size/mods

I have a 2001 supercrew with 17 rims from a 2002 supercrew fx 4x4 --i am purchasing the bridgestone dueler a/t revos(285/70/17) for replacement tires. My Question is --do I have to do any mods for these to fit? Do I turn the torsion bar? if so which way? How much? Thanks for any Help.

What tire size originally came on your rig? You might have to trim a little off the lower front bumper valance to clear the tires. I think that might be your only issue.

You will just have to trim a small amount of plastic on the valance. A 285 is just one size bigger than stock i believe so no big changes.

If its a 4x4 you will have to do no mods whatsoever.......

If its a 4x2 then I would suggest not going that big and sticking to a 265/70/17.

tires

The truck is a 4x4. The original equipment had 255's with 15 inch rims. it had everything that the 4x4 package but the larger tires and rancho shocks.

You won't have to trim if you are using OEM wheels.

I'm sure you meant 16" not 15" as 15's won't fit on 97-03's because of the size of the brake calipers.

Hey captdan, no worries man, you're planned combo is exactly what I have size wise, as well as hawgman amoung many others. You can turn the torsion bars up just to level, plus alignment, but that is purely optional. I just slapped the 285's on and go nuts. Suspension travel, turning everything, no rub, no nothing. A 305 may run ya problems or even a 295, but there again it will be minor stuff. Do it man and you'll be happy.

All 4x4s have the same suspension clearance. If using OEM 17" rims, 285/70's fit without any modifications.
