I also forgot to say Michelin LTX M/S, awesome tire and lasts forever. My dad had a set, not cheap mind you but great even in the snow. All around great, he whines cuz his new BFG's are a bit noisey, if it's too loud, you're too old I tell him.

I find it very hard to tell which tires get better wet pavement traction. But on the snow, ice and sand it's easy. I've had almost every AT out there and have never hydro-planed with any of them. My guess would be that a well siped tread would get the most traction on wet and icey pavement.

The problem is taking off from a dead stop in wet weather. With a 15-20% throttle, the back end breaks loose and starts sliding out. I have ProComp AT's with 90% tread left. I have to take off like a turtle to keep in under control.

O.K. I get were your coming from. I would say a tire with a softer compound would help alot. Bridgestone Revos and Michelin Ltx's have pretty soft compounds. Also, Pick-ups have light rearends so I'm sure a little weight over the rear tires would also help. I always throw about 200 lbs of sandbags in the bed to get me through the Michigan winter. I have a 2003 supercab with Revos(2nd set) and have not had any slipping problems on wet pavement. I think the Tirerack.com gives wet traction ratings.

The Michelin LTX's are great in wet weather. This is the main reason I buy them. They are no problem on take off and they feel very stable on wet curves, plus they are good for about 65,000 miles if rotated properly. I have run them for years, only tire I buy.

How can we be so far apart politically and run the same tire?
