Brake light help

Brake light help

I have a 98 f-150. My turn signals work but my brake lights don't what could it be?

Does the third light work? Seems unlikely all three would go out at once. Unless there's a short.

It won't be the bulbs. The brake and turn signals use the same filament. It could be fuse #13 (15A) in the fuse panel under the dash, but if that was the case, a lot more things wouldn't work, the shift-lock actuator being one of them. If the shift-lock works, it's not a fuse or brake switch issue. You'll want to check the LG wire for power when you press the brakes where it enters the multifunction switch on the column.

joe ;I came up with the same problem except third light does work does LG mean large green wire. I am not sure what the mal****ion switch is. any help ???

Thumbs up brake lights

want to thank joe and steve for the help. it was in the multifunction switch.
it was not bad . it turned out the hazard warning button was sticking. pressed
it on and off a few times and starting working.
