After looking it up, I agree, however, whatever the tread width is, it is not going to change because the wheel width changes. If it is 11 inches on a 8" wheel, it will be 11" on a 9 or 10" wheel.

correct, but there are maximum widths, and minimum widths for each rim width. You can't put a 325 tire on a 14x6 rim etc.
