Spacers?

Spacers?

I just installed a 2.5" leveling kit and 35/12.5/18's on OEM rims on a 06 screw 4x4. Will 1/2 spacers solve the rubbing problem? Any other problems arise from using the spacers?
If not, Where's the best place to get them online?

Never use wheel spacers.

what brand tires did you get, because i am looking at getting the same size tires and am not sure what kind i want, what brand and how much if you dont mind me asking? Thanks

I bought BFG Mud terrain's. The truck is new, so the dealer gave me a $175 credit for each of my stock tires and I paid the difference which was about $200 cdn each.

They push the wheels outward which increases leverage on steering and suspension components. This results in increased wear and tear.

HOW? Nothing is being stretched. so wouldnt wider rims increase the same stress. Ive never understood how a 1/4, 1/2 , or 3/4 spacer would hurt anything at all.... maybe something over an inch or two would not be to safe. ive just never understood how that puts more stress on ur suspension.??????

How much and where is it rubbing ?? I have the AS 2.5" on my 05 4x4 and planning to put the same tire/rim combo on. I've seen others do the same with no problems but if you're having issues maybe I need to re-think putting on 35's.

1/4in spacers wont solve the problem but it would help out alot.. only rubbing on FULL turns. 1/2inch is to much. dont do 1/2inch.

How? Because the hub of the wheel is not longer up against the hub of the disc/drum. With a slip on spacer, you put more stress on the lug (and it may be more difficult to keep your lugnuts tight), and the bolt on spacers might work loose (and you might see your tire pass you on the interstate like 91Blues from www.ford-trucks.com's forum).

Overall, spacers are more risky than not using them. If you get the right diameter and not too thick, it may be OK. Circle track drivers have been using them for years, but they warn about the sizes, and they say to stay away from aluminum (but they are racers too, so take that as you may).
