Im not sure if I want to get 22's or 24's on my 05 KR Screw....I like 24" rims and they look better imo, but I don't want to sacrafice a comfortable ride just for looks. I was just wondering what everybody reccommends that has bigger rims on their trucks. Also does anyone know if they are making a bigger/off-road tire for 22" rims yet? what about 24"s? Thanks for all the help!

 

I dont know about the ride with low-pro tires. There are a few companys (Toyo, Nitto, and couple others) who make off-road tires in bigger rim sizes.

 

It depends on the tire size. For instance, a 33 inch tall tire on a 24 inch wheel will ride stiffer than a 33 inch tire on a 22 inch wheel. It's all about the amount of sidewall the tire has.

 

It depends on various factors based on your goals with your truck. 24"s ride great depending on the tire size, load rating and brand. A 305/35/24 rides great 285/40/24 will also ride great and fill up more gap. Same with 22"s

 

Just expect to pay 3~ times as much per tire for the 24s.

 

3 times as much per tire for 24s compared to what 17s? Maybe but not 22s

 

when I got my wheels and tires a little less than a year ago it was going to cost $500-650 per tire for the tires I wanted, and for the same overall size for my 22s was $220~. So yeah, about 2-3 times as much.

Unless it has changed drastically since then... but for a good, high performance tire they cost a lot more for 24s. I got my 22s and tires for $2,200 OTD. If I went for 24s it was going to be $3,500 and the only difference basically was in tires.

 

$1500-$1600 otd m/b 305/35 vr or zr rated tire in a 24 gets your choice of brands today, so things have changed since you made your purchase

 

Yep, as they have become more popular, more tire manufacturers make them. More choices means better prices. You don't just have to choose from "name brand" tires for 22's and 24's anymore. Heck, Mastercraft makes 24's now.

 

And now the manufactures have noticed many consumers like myself want a lower sidewall on trucks and suvs so they have reinforced the sidewall thus allowing a lower profile tire to ride well and have a load index equal or greater than a higher series tire.
