How Big and What size?
How Big and What size?
I have a 2003 F150 Lariat Supercrew with a 5.4lL engine.... everything is stock on the truck. How do i know what size rims i have and what is the biggest tire that i can put on a stock rim. I would like a bigger tire with out a Lift kit.
I have searched the forums but did not come up with much..
Any help is appreciated..
Thanks

I am going to assume you have 17 inch rims, if so I believe (I know mine are, 2000 Lariat w/17's) that the stock rims are 7.5'' wide. From everything I have heard and read a 285/70-R17 (possibly a 295/70-R17, Nitto's are about the only thing i have seen in that size) is the biggest you can go stock, without any mods. Now if your truck has torsion bars, I don't know if they had them still in 2003, you can crank them up about 2'' and fit 305's under there. That is all I know, and is all from what I have heard, I am about to go with some 285's myself on stock rims.
If you keep the OEM wheels, you can fit 315/70-17's (35x12.50). You will have some minor rubbing on the frame at full steering lock. I personally would not go that large without a lift. I would suggest a 285/70-17 (33x11.50), 295/70-17 (34x12.00) or a 33x12.50-17.
My sig has 305/70/16's with stock suspension. They arent on stock rims, but you can see how a 33 looks at stock height.

Chapman...can you tell me what you have done to your truck as far as wheels and tires go. I like the height and look. What year is your truck. Mine is a 2003. Let me know what you got on it.
Thanks for the Info...

I've searched, but everything I ran across is for 4wd trucks. I have a 05 2wd Screw........whats the biggest I can fit onto stock wheels (17") without rubbing? Those continental conticrap tires are already almost worn down at 16000 miles. Thanks.
