I've heard it depends

My Mickey Thompson Classic Lock 17x9's fit my very late '05 (bought in July...mfd in May '05). There is a rumor that mid-year '05 Ford changed the brake calipers (larger) & that some people had fitment issues with aftermarket rims. I can assure you that the '06 truck over on the Lot has the exact same brakes that mine does.

So your real question is: WHICH aftermarket 17x9's will fit...I know of one

Hey Thunder,

Here is what I found from the Ford Specifications Site, concerning Wheel/Tire options direct from the dealer:

"P255/70Rx17 OWL all-terrain tires (5) — 4x4 only; optional on XLT Regular Cab and SuperCab, standard on XLT SuperCrew and standard on XLT, SuperCab 4x4 w/133-in. wheelbase and 4.6L engine"

So, yes depending on correct offset of the 17" wheels, they will fit.

P.S. Just make sure you get the correct bolt pattern of 6 x 135mm when ordering aftermarket wheels.

Sorry, but there is not a yes or no answer. The aftermarket 17's may or may not fit over your brakes. What exact wheel are you looking at? You see, Ford changed the brake calipers sometime during the 05 model year. This is causing fitment problems with SOME (not all) aftermarket 17 inch wheels. So the bottom line is some aftermarket 17's will fit the 05-06 models and some won't.

Wandell, right now I am looking at 3 wheels. The MT Classic Lock in 17". The MB Motoring Blitz in Chrome, and the MB Motoring 6-Gunner in chrome. I can't get to the page right now, but both the MB's are 17x8 ~ 6-135 ~ 25mm and the MT's are 5.5"bs.

I will post the specs later, when the site comes back online.

Thanks everyone.

I know that Toeless is running the MT's on his truck in that size. But I haven't seen the other 2 MB wheels. Please post if you have them!
