Question Helo Maxx 6

I have a 2004 F-150 and will be purchasing 295/70/17 Terra Grapplers soon. I was planning on getting the 17x9 Helo Maxx 6's to put on, but after searching this forum I found that there seems to be much debate over whether or not these clear the brake calipers. I have heard they will only not work for the 05's. Does anybody know for sure whether or not these will work on an '04?

I've never heard of a clearance problem with them on the 04's. Just be sure to test fit one before tire installation.

Unless its a problem with those specific wheels, 17"s should clear the calipers.

The 17's will clear the calipers. Just make sure the backspacing is what you want. Stock is around 6". Most aftermarket are around 4.5", so they'll stick out farther.

Went to a local truck shop today and they called a Helo distributor who said that the 17x9 Helo Maxx 6 will not work on the new F-150 because it is a reverse-mount wheel. Helo recently redesigned the wheel and now offer a 17x8 version that will work. I will be putting these on within the week.

so they did redesign it to fit. cool I want to see pics. I wanted to get this rim too but found out it wouldn't fit. so what is the backspacing for the new rim design. I look forword to seeing your pics when you get them on. I was thinking I was going to have to go with the 18's but I am glad to hear they are makeing a 17 inch one to fit. I will have to go a looking now to see if I can find it.

not yet, the nittos still haven't been delivered to the shop due to the fact that pretty much all terra grapplers are on backorder in texas. I will post pics as soon as I finally get them.

me too as every one I have tried to buy them from says the 17's won't fit. if I see someone put them on with pics that will be proof enough for me to go back and say they do. can't wait for those pics.

well tex did you get those helo maxx 6 17X8 to fit. I have been contacting alot of people who say that none of the 17's will fit. you should make sure you dry fit those before you go mounting them up to make sure they fit. that would suck if you waited all this time for the nittos and the rims didn't fit.

I am getting the tires and wheels mounted Sat. morning. I also hope they fit, but the guy at the shop called the Helo dealer and he said they will clear the calipers, so we'll see. I will post pics tomorrow as soon as I get them, assuming they will fit.

I can't wait to see the pics. these are helo maxx 6 17X8's? can you find out the backspacing? I have tried to buy these rims from several supliers and they all say they don't fit a few even said they called helo. I am not sure why the 17X8 would fit and not the 17X9. unless they changed the backspaceing to 4.5 or something like that. keep us posted.

just got back from the truck shop and they were able to fit the wheels on the truck no problem. It looks pretty good to me. I am going to wash the truck and then post pics later today.
