285 or 295/75/16

Hey Guys,
I know this questioned gets ask a lot but which tire size should I buy? I have 2001 supercrew 4x4 with stock height. I am looking at 16x10 rims with Nitto Terra Grappler tires. I know the 295 are a little bigger and I can get them for about $50 more for the set of four. Is it worth it or should I go with the 285 instead. Will the 16x10 wheels fit the 285 nicley?

If you have 10inch wide rims i would go for the 295's.

I'd go with the 305/70-16 Nitto's personally, but any of the three will work.

Would those fit on a stock truck with 16x10s?

305's should fit, but you might need to crank up your torsion bars a little bit

You may also have to trim a little bit of plastic off the bumper's lower valance.

Wandell,

How much of the lower valance will I need to trim and where? Also, w/ 295/75/16 tires will I need to crank up the torsion bars? I have never done this and is this hard to do? How much should I raise them? Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure I do everything right.

Trimming depends on tire fitment, you really need to put them on and see where it need to be trimmed, if it does at all, and torsion bars are fairly simple to crank up, all you have to do is turn the adjustment screww and then get it aligned, I know wandell has pictures and more in depth instuctions on this.

285s

I had an 02' and mounted 285 75 16s on 16 x 10 rims. I had to trim a little bit on the front bumper, but it looked good! The 16 x 10 pulled the tires out a little bit, but I never had any problems and had good even tire wear.
