'98 F150 rear drum brake

I have drum brakes on the rear of my F150 Ext Cab 2x4 and are very quiet until I release the brake pedal, then I hear a loud squeek coming from the rear drivers side drum. So when I am releasing it squeeks at stops. I've cleaned them and replaced shoes which were no help. Any tips?

When you replaced shoes, did you have the drums turned. If they are glazed it can cause squeeking. Make sure to wash them out after they get turned to get rid of the fine metal dust. This simple step will eliminate a lot of drum noise.

Did you adjust your emergency brakes properly? This tends to be overlooked and can cause squeak.

Sounds like you need to lube the backing plate where the shoes make contact. This is very common on all vehicles with drum brakes when the backing plate is dry.
