That's actually a 35x13.50 tire and will be an extremely tight fit, if it will work at all.

Tire sizes are always rounded up to the next whole number by the manufacturers. A 325/65-18 is probably 34 1/2 or 34 3/4 inches tall. Check the manufacturers website for an exact measurement.

Make sure the new wheels have the same backspacing as stock. I THINK they are 4.5" Otherwise you will most likely get some rubbing.

Exactly! The stock wheels are 18x7.5 inches wide. I believe the stock backspacing is 5 1/2 inches. Most of the 18x9 inch wheels I have seen have 5 inches of backspacing. That means the wheel will stick out 2 inches farther than the OEM wheels. Remember, wheel size and backspacing play as important a role in tire fitment as tire size and lift.

I think they will be to heigh. I have the same setup with 325/60/18 and the look and fit fine, especially with bushwacker flares.

To figure out the size take the first number and divde by 25.4 to put that number in inches instead of mm. Then take that number and multiply by the second number which is a percentage of the tread width the sidewall is (70 = 70%= 0.70 to multiply by) Then since there are two sidewall heights per tire so that must be taken into account. Then add the rim diameter. So for this tire:

325/25.4=12.79 tire width (rounds to 13")

2(12.79 x 0.65)=16. 63 inches of sidewall

16.63+18= 34.63 or a 35" tire.

So essentially it is a 35 x 13 tire. Of course they never actually measure what they are supposed to be.

It sounds complicated but I hope that makes sense.

Mike

hovbuild,
is your wheels 18x9's? are your tire very agressive lookine w/ side spike? surely there can't be that big of a difference between the 325/60/18 and 325/65/18......what do you think?
thanks so much!

When you are pushing the limits with tire/wheel size, which you are, 1 or 2 inches difference in height is a HUGE difference. It could be the difference between minor rubbing and rubbing enough to damage a tire.
Also, BlkButy at FTW had a 2.5 inch leveling kit and 325/60-18 Nitto's on 18x9 Eagles with 5 inches of backspacing when he first bought his 04. He has since added a 3 inch body lift and 325/65-18 Nitto's. If you go to the gallaries at FTW and narrow the search filter down to "lifted" "2004" "F-150" "4x4" "crew cabs", you can look at his Screw.
