Nitto Terra Grappler 295/70R17 ?

Apologies if this questions been asked before, but will a Nitto Terra Grappler A/T 295/70R17 tire fit a stock 2004 4x2 SCab ?

The tire is 33.2", which is not much bigger than a 285/70R17, which I think will fit???

Any other alternative suggestions to the stock tires welcome.

Thanks for any input.

I don't think they will fit a stock 4x2. They may fit if you install one of the 2.5 inch leveling kits and use the stock wheels. I know I've seen an 04 4x2 with a 2.5 inch lift and 285/70-17's.

Thanks for the input. I went with the 285/70R17 BFG AT's in the end and they fit just fine, and they fill out the wheel wells nicely too. Although I may lift the front 2.5" just to make it sit level.

Thnaks again.

Nitto Terra Grappler 295-70R17

Where can I find a dealer that sells the Nitto Terra Grappler 295-70R17? I have looked at numerous sites and only see them in 265-70-17 sizes. What price did you pay? Thank you.

Any Nitto dealer should be able to get the 295/70-17's. This size was just introduced. That is why you don't see it listed.

George, Nice Truck! I have a black '97 F150 4x4 Offroad. The tires look great! I plan to get the same size as your sportin

I do have a request though, can you post some pics of your truck from the front & rear to show how thick the tires look

Thanks and rock on!

Yes - Give me a couple of days. Preparing for Hurricane Ivan has been keeping us busy around here. The tires are not that wide though but a whole lot better than the stock 265's. George

Got lucky on the hurricane. I was far enough west. Pray for the folks in Alamaba and Florida though.

Here's the link for more photo's. I added a front and rear view to my Gallery.

George,

Glad to hear you made it ok. Thank you for the new pics!

I really like those tires, they fill out the wheel wells nicely and the aggressive tread pattern looks great.

Also I assume you don't have a lift, so with the 295's on have you had any issues with tire rubb? I do like to do some moderate offroading and our winters here can get rough, so I have a concern for wheel clearance. Thanks in advance for your response!

No problems with any tire rub and everything is stock except the tires. No lift kit in any way, same shocks, etc. Also stocks wheels too.

I've had them about 3 weeks. The traction in rain is pretty good as far as I can tell.

Price wasn't too bad either - about $850 including mounting, balance and taxes. I could have bought them on the internet and saved ~$75 but I wasn't sure they'd fit so I went with a local tire dealer.

Enjoy them,
George

Good deal George. Thats encouraging, I don't want to get a lift at this time. I keep my truck garaged and if I lift it the truck will not fit. I also am going to use my stock 17" rim. I beleive it is 7 1/2" wide. Do you think it is wide enough?

I did read up on the tires and they have a fairly good rating for wet and snow/ice conditions. I can't wait to get them!
