which mud tires??
which mud tires??
I have a 2000 F-150 and im about to put a 3 inch body and i need 35 inch mud tires that r good in the mud but will last me until next summer. I have 17 inch rims and i was gonna go with buckshot but they dont make 35s that fit 17 inch rims.Which tires should i go with????
if you are set on 35" check out your local hummer dealer, they have 17" BFG 35's with little or no miles. should be able to get em cheap.
Procomp MTR's is what i have, 33" though. they are good.
I hear good things about the Goodyear MTR, but they may wear a little quick.

buddy all i can say is bfg !!! i have reserched it to death i have a 2001 lariat 4x4 with a 3 inch body lift i put the BFG MUDDERS ON IT.. not only do they look great they pull great very good pulling tire !! but the best thing about them is they are very quite on the highway very quiet ..bfg all the way man .. by the way my tires are 35-12-50 on 17 inch rims 17-10s they look great on the truck and no tire rub the body lift did the trick just a very small bit of shaving on the brush gaurd plastic peace and it was fine ..but for the money you will love the BFG MUDDER ( LITTLE COSTLEY ) but well worth it great looks great pulling power great ride

That would be MT, not MTR.
I have a set of 35" MTRs that I ran for 2 years. They had very good road manners and good offroad traction. The way they have been wearing I am expecting 60k from them. I'd buy them again if I had a need for mud terrains again.
Just a word of caution. With 35/12.5s on stock wheels you won't run into problems with rubbing on the body, but the rubbing will be on the frame. The stock wheels are slightly too narrow for 12.5" tires and will make them taller than normal and will cause rubbing on the frame.
MTR's wear quick
I just pulled off a set of GY MTRs @41000 and they were bald.
Mostly highway 70%.
Put on BFG TA KO and am liking the ride so far at 200-300 miles.
Much quieter but I miss the aggresive look of the MTR's when new.
Good Luck!

A buddy has the MT/Rs on his '02 SCrew FX4, had them on for quite some time now. IIRC, he's pushing 30k on them, and there's still plenty of tread left.
Technically they're not a mud tire per se, but the performance in the goo is really impressive. One way or the other, you're going to get a great set of tires, just pick the ones you like (or can afford) better.
