Lightbulb 33-12.5/17 tires

Is it possible to put 33-12.5/17 ProComp AT tires or any other tire brand for that matter, on stock Ford 17" rims. I have the ORP, and want to keep stock rims, which are 7.5" wide. The procomp website states I would need an 8" rim for this size tire. Anyone done this with stock. All response would be greatly appreciated as I am new and if you have pictures that would even be better. Happy Trails

I originally put my ProComps on my stock 17X7.5 wheels and they worked fine. They fit and ride fine.

Mark.....Do you have any lift or is the truck stock height? If stock height, do you have any scrubbing when turning sharply either direction? Could you mail me a pic (xltget@hotmail.com)or post it here? I am asking so many questions because I am about ready to buy the ProComp 33's myself and have heard that they will scrub, and that they won't scrub....depending on who I ask. I figure there's no better person to ask than a man who's got them.

RebelYell,

My truck is a stock SuperCrew 4x4 ORP(just got it Thursday - I ordered it). The tires fit with no rubbing under any conditions (sharp turns, crossing small ditch, etc.). I haven't been in heavy off road situations but I don't think they will rub there either.

Two things though. First, I've heard they may rub on some mud flaps which I don't have yet but a little trimming fixes that. Second, my SuperCrew sits up higher than my neighbors SuperCab so I don't how they would work on it.

No, I orded my truck w/o the running boards. Being 6'4" I don't really need them and the factory ones stuck out too far anyway. I'd end up with dirty pants legs all the time from dragging across them.

Mark,
Amen on the running board comment, I'm 6'9" and I hate them, even twisted my knee after catching one on my old Blazer (they were removed soon there after!!). My 5'6" wife loves them though, but she'll have to make do w/ the grab handles!

How about some pics of the 33's guys? Thanks, Doc

Question

SuperCrewMark do you have factory running boards on your supercrew. If so did you have to trim them with the new Pro Comp tires.

Do you have any picture also.

Thanks,

Keech

SuperCrew Mark, do you have any pictures w/ the new procomps? Also did you make any gear changes etc? Would one have to make any compensation with the 33's?
