Cardone 5474408, booster fits on without crimping lines, not too hard of a job.

That discredits the parts guy immediately. There is no proportioning valve on our trucks. It is a fixed proportion based on the bores of the master cylinder and the piston diameters of the calipers and/or wheel cylinders. That's part of why functioning rear brakes (or the lack of) in the 97 and 98 rear drum brake systems are so important.
