Question lug nuts

I am putting 1999 lightning rims on a 2001 F150 2WD Lariat. I wanted to buy some chrome lug nuts / locks. Does anyone know what the diameter, thread, and length should be? I can take these measurements myself but am not sure if they are metric or SAE.

Thanks

Contact a local Gorilla dealer and they can help you out!

Yep I think PhillipSVT is correct should be either 14x1.50 or 14x1.75 Gorrilla is the way to go in my opinion they have the better key for the locking lugs. If you have an Americas Tire or Discount Tire in your area they should have all those in stock they may hve to order the locks though. You may even be able to get them on there website but not sure about that. www.americastire.com then find a store locally on there search.

NO ................. NO ..................... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man, how many times has this been posted on this and other boards. It should be around Dec 99 when the did the stud chance and went to 14mmx2 NOT 1.75 or 1.5. Ford has used 2 wheel stud sizes since 97. 12mmx1.75 and 14mmx2. Since you're putting these on an 01 you need 14mmx2

If you want the Ford Racing Lug nuts:

Trucks built before 29-NOV-99 : 12 studs, Ford Racing Part Number M-1012-C ( qty of 5 per pack ) list 12.95, www.oemfordparts.com price : 11.95.

Trucks built after 29-NOV-99 : studs, Ford Racing Part Number : M-1012-E, same prices both MSRP and from the web site.

Ford Racing catalog page 81, or check out the Ford Racing web site : www.fordracing.com/performanceparts

All the same, yes Phil had it correct, the truck has 14 mm lugs on it. The Gorilla catalog they almost look like Acorn nuts, that screwed me up for awhile, I thought some might have them, that I did not know about....Guess the drawing in the downloadable catalog from Gorrila is wrong. At least I hope it is only the drawing.....

Good luck with selecting Lug nuts for your truck, in my gallery there is a picture of the L lugs in the 3rd album, if you want to see what they look like.

Hey Phil...need some new skins ??? Got a set of F1s with 3,500 miles on them if you burned yours up already

Thanks alot, www.oemfordparts.com is good website. I'll probably order them from there. Selection at local autoparts stores is limited.

Just for the record. My truck was built in mid-2000 and my lug nut size is 12mm x 1.75. Found this out the hard way when I was having my new wheels installed yesterday and the 14mm x 2 lug nuts I suppled slid right over the posts. Make sure you test them before you buy them....

shoboat90,

Mid 2000 as in 06/00 or mid 2000 model year ?

The plate on the door should have the build month and year stamped on it.

The cut off dates listed above are direct from Ford.
