Angry Surprise! rotor removal problem: can't remove the bracket to remove the rotor, HELP!

Ok, calipers: off, pads: off, rotor: loose (surprise surprise)
HOW THE HELL DO I GET THE ROTOR OFF?
I can't remove the rotor because the spindle is too long, and the bracket for the pads is in the way. The two nuts in behind won't budge. Is this the same problem everyone else has been having, or am I trying to remove the wrong part? I feel like a such a idiot, everything lying there on the ground, and the rotor even wants to come off. AHHHH, HELP!

If the 98 2WD has the integrated hub/rotor assembly, then my instruction may help... if not... please ignore this post.

Caliper and caliper mounting bracket removal instuctions are here: https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/008044.html
You will have to take the caliper bracket off to take the rotor off. The torque spec for the bracket bolts is i think over 150ft-lbs (I can look it up)... so a breaker bar may help. But because the bolts are rear-facing, I was tightening them instead of loosening them a few times

Once the bracket is off, you have to remove the center hub hardward: silver cap, retaining pin, lock washer, and nut. Now the rotor/hub should slide forward. Once, I had to give it a good wack, but be careful hitting it, supposedly you can mess up the ABS sensor magnitization if you hit the rotor too hard.

Removed rotor/hub looks like this: The dust shield has been cut off in this pic. Caliper mounting bolt holes are on the right in the pic.

Finally, some of the rotor removal problem posted here are for 4x4 trucks - that's a different problem.

Cool

YES!Done deal!

Actually, like all shadetree amatuers, I made some basic mistakes.
The first, was not turning the wheels on an angle so that I could get more torque with the wrench. Second, alwyas use liquid wrench on rusty stubborn nuts and bolts. Anyways, thanks again, you were right, you HAVE to remove the bracket in order to remove the rotor on a 98. Now, if only the rotors can be salvaged I'll be in total luck (though I doubt they are machinable at this point)
Thanks again...
