So whats the deal? Are we going to meet up somewhere early on Saturday morning?

I'm down to come, I'm going to stick to trails though, not alot of mud. my tires are bald and i just spent ALL day saturday giving my truck a nice exterior/interior detail, I'm not about to trash the inside again.

What i will do is bring my camera and take lots of pictures and put together a trip video, which should be pretty cool. I may also be able to bring firewood if i can find a way to get up to the ranch and split some up.

I am still working on the meeting part. A good chunk of us are heading up Friday mid afternoon or so. Couple other comin up later, then a few comin up Saturday. I am trying to work on a good meeting place, and give you directions. That way, I can hang out around there until you arrive, then lead you down to Camp. Shop is slow again, I should be able to get those out today.

Glad your comin bud, should be a good trip.

found this site, thought I'd share.

Directions from Ukiah: Travel 6 miles north on US Hwy. #101, turn right (east) onto California Hwy#20 and travel for 5 miles. Turn onto County Road #240 and travel 26 miles northeast to Lake Pillsbury. Take Forest Route #20N01 around the Lake to reach the campground.

Thats how to get to Oak Flats campground. one we usually stay at. Having trouble finding a good set of directions for yall tho. I'll keep looking

I was planning on meeting in Rohnert Park if your alright with it. We can meet at the Chevron, get some supplies and head out.

If your going 101 north, take Rohnert Park Expressway exit

Turn left (up and over the highway) and the Chevron will be on your right hand side. We can meet over there. Go over into another parking lot if we need to wait for other guys. Not sure how many will be leaving with us, will probably start headin up around 4-5 pm. I plan on doing a little wheeling Friday. Go look around and see whats "new" and how the pits have changed. Maybe show ya around a lil bit. My sami will be making a later trip then us I think.

I dont know what would be faster from Davis, maybe going up north on 5 to 20 andtaking 20 west over, or going around back on 80 through napa then north on 101...enlighten me?

Also, i recently left my guns at home in the Bay Area so i dont have them with me, someone bring one (preferably a shotgun) just incase mr bear or mr cougar decides to show up (or to just have some fun and shoot chit).

PS how close is it to the Lake? is the fishing any good in the lake?

sounds good, ill probably be up there around 2 at the latest,or should i plan to be there around 4ish? i have a feeling the earlier the better for traffic in the north bay.maybe ill just hang out in rhonert for a while till you get there.

msall-mt said someone should be bringing guns, as for directions you can fly on 5 but 20 is slightly twisty(top speed would be low 30s) i dont know about the other way but anytime you go near the bay area you face traffic. o and definatley bring your camera. id love to have some video of the weekend.

No worries Msal, there shall be guns. As far as the lake, ya man its right close. A quick drive at most. As far as fishing, its always worth it to try, can't think of any catch worth talkin about. If we are looking for fresh food, we usually try to nab a bird (turkey/geese depending on season are PLENTIFUL up there) as far as fastest way up, I'd say 5 would be your best route man. Just listen up to some traffic reports before ya head out.

madmax: I think two-ish would be your best bet. I'll do my best to be in town by then, maybe right behind ya tho. I'll be packed and ready to go after a few supplies (ice, gas). Zuk will be towed up later in the day. As for the pics, its raining and dark by the time I got home, but you'll see it.

bummer geese and turkeys are both out of season.

But hey man if you like shootin turkeys, the season opens in April and i know TONS of amazing places to go up in the Shasta/Lassen area near our ranch, hundreds of miles of logging roads and tukreys everywhere (good wheeling/trail ride areas too).

I'll probably take 5 to 20.

Right now, Santa Rosa 4x4 (club) is working on changin Cow up quite a bit. Expanding the obstacle course and doing sme other sweet little changes. Making it more for everyone, from rock buggies, to stocker rockers. Should be pretty sweet here fairly soon. Let me know if yall ever wonder back up here.
No worries! The trail maps are sick. He's actually from Clearlake and lives in SAC now, but he goes up that way all the time. You guys should get together and do some crawling if you've got a zuke!

mSal: I am always down to nab some birds ! That should be another trip sometime. And I know you've heard me say, thats my "dream land" up that way. Hope to retire up in that area when it comes time.

Madmax: I work in San Rafael (just over the Gate). I work off the 101 / 580 merge. If your comin up that way, we could always meet up around there and head up to RP. And now worries man, I am gettin stoked. Hopin the little Sami holds up to some good fun. Can't believe this is your first real off-road trip ! It should be some real fun for ya, and hopefully only one trip of many more to come.

c0ckac0la: I am down, tell him to get on the forum ! Pretend to have a 150 ! So whats he drive/wheel ?

Yeah, I already told him to join! He has a Unibody Jeep Cherokee. It is the one in the "about us" section of the site. I think these were taken at an offroad park in Sac. He was testing out the flex after the new sway bar dismount system he installed.

He also uses a lot of google earth imaging to collect and store GPS waypoints. If I can get him on here, he can send you a file of his current maps that he hasn't loaded onto the site yet.

I think 24 over to 580 over to 101 would be your best bet, if leaving early-ish afternoon.
