Think Before You Chat
I am with WLF on this. If I have a question I will try to search but usally find the question asked a bit different or some different facts revolving around the orignal question so I just post my question.
This is a FORUM not a damn research center. For those that don't like reading the same questions over and over go somewhere else, or research your problem else where.
I will admit that what would bug me is to open a particular thread (say V-6) and then see the same type of question listed in the first page like 3 times i.e. "what's the best oil?"
Other then that if the question is not on the first few pages of a particular thread go ahead and list it, some will be by to answer. The ones that have the stupid remark of "go use the search function" should opt out of the conversation and do something important with their life rather then make themselfs look like more of an *** for simply posting "Use the search function"

I do agree with you mostly, even though i made the less-than-mature post on page 1. If i have a question i ususally do a search or two on it then maybe ask a question a little different than would normally be asked. I personally think the number of posts yu have does and does not matter. I think the seniority factor plays a role in how persuasive the person is but also you never know if the person has 4500 posts of bulls*it, or a FORD mechanic with 3 posts. I konw some guys on here are very reliable, and ill do my part to eliminate stuipd threads/posts. But a laugh every now and then dont do any harm
PS dont race Neal I saw the video too!

I say post the question -- Even the 'towing' question. I'll wager that most folks new to towing will never consider whether or not they can stop their rig. I have heard the hogwash that some of these boat salemen are spewing. "Sure, that Pontiac Grand Am is plenty to tow this Lake Michigan cruiser!!!"
I would love to race Neal. Sure, I would lose. No shame in losing to your betters. Besides, I would like to see the benchmark in naturally aspirated!

Matt,
It is a small world - "Go Patriots". To answer you question; no I have never raced an SVT Lightening. Why would I? The truck has much more horsepower than the stock 5.4L in my ride. On the otherhand mine is much better for the winter conditions up here.
My summer car is a 2001 Quicksilver 6-speed Corvette convertible. Have you ever raced on of those?

The posts I don't like are the ones asking the same question from the same poster in two or three different forums at once because "this one gets viewed more" when it has nothing to do with that forum.
I've searched when I needed an answer "right now", and don't have the time to wait for a new answer. This has resolved many issues for me. That's why I rarely post a question. Usually just tossing out my opinion for those that do.......
Oh yeah, what's this got to do with Engines anyway??

As Green_98 states, he uses the search function, but sometimes it is inadequate. And, from somewhat of a theoretical standpoint, there really can be only so many logical questions asked about the subject of "Trucks." Especially since this website refers to a specific truck, the F-150. So, asuming all or most of these questions are asked, what do you expect? No more posting and having idle catagories of "Engines" , "V-6" , "Lightning"?
My grandfather recently was introduced to this website and is not very computer skilled. He has no idea how to search (I have since shown him), or perform anything more than the basic functions that most of us take for granted. He most likely will post a repetitive topic simply based on his inexperience, not ego, laziness, or the like. Even though you may view these topics as "annoying", they really are not harming you, and like crashz pointed out, you really have no idea of the knowlegde of the poster.
