Just notified yesterday that mine is on order. No hassle. No measurement. They took my word on it and said they'd call me when it came in.

evo,
Congrats on your success with Heritage. My dealer (in central Vermont, who will remain nameless for the moment) maintains that I have the correct radiator. I'm going to have heritage check it out - any advice on how to approach them?

Thanks...

Mine is being installed today. It took a few days for the service manager to iron things out with the regional field Engineer, but I'm getting what I paid for.

Thumbs up

T21, the reason it took your service manager time to iron it out with the regional engineer (aka Field Service Engineer) is because he (the FSE) is an idiot!

The guys name is Richard Whitworth, and he's based right in Syracuse. This is the guy who told me the reason that my truck didn't get the 2.02" rad is because there was an engineering change made during the course of the model year and Ford's engineers felt that it wasn't necessary.

So I then asked why the 2001's were still coming with a larger radiator and he gave me the same engineering change excuse. I then asked him why my truck was special not needing the larger radiators, but earlier and later models with the same configuration did. I wanted to know why mine was so special. His response was that he didn't design the truck, and if it came off the line that way then it didn't need it. I'm not one to resort to name calling, but that dude was clearly an idiot!

Funny, now on my new 3 day old 01 I still got the wrong radiator, but when I mentioned it to the dealer service manager I got the "oh there's been some reports of that happening lately" followed by "we'll have it Monday for you".

I suppose I could demand a new truck, but why would I want to? A rad is not a big deal to replace, and I kinda like my configuration. Plus my 5.4 is running smooth as silk with good power and great mpg. I think I'll give them a chance to make it right.

BTW... Anyone know exactly what is required to swap the radiators? How much is going to be disassembled? Thanks.

Welcome back Evo - I hope you enjoyed your vacation.

Sounds like you are now getting the same answer I got from my dealer. Let me know how it goes...

Got it resolved. Have an appointment to get the 1.42" installed tomorrow morning at 8am from Greenway Ford in Orlando, FL. The service department wouldn't do anything for me, but my salesman and the customer relations manager worked everything out for me. Glad it got resolved.

tonka01,

It sounds like you had a fairly painless experience with your radiator exchange. I too am in the Baton Rouge area, and I would like to have my incorrect radiator replaced. I have been in "negotiations" with a local dealer who is not exactly being uncooperative, but they are definitely taking quite a while to "look into the matter." Would you mind sharing the name of the dealership and their personnel who helped you? It would be greatly appreciated by me, and probably others.

Thanks,
SM
