RJ...what you fail to realize is this is a FORD board. Coming in here trashing Ford is worthless and just goes to prove your lack of any and all intelligence what so ever. You apparently are trying to get the attention here that you lack in real life? Maybe your parents don't tell you they love you enough...then again...maybe daddy is giving you a tad too much *lovin'*. Whatever it is, please leave your negative remarks at the door and your stupidity with it. We don't need holier than thou type people here, regardless of what you think!

Go drive your GMC
(G)ot(M)inature(C)ock

and troll somewhere else.

FYI, my current ops manager was a Chevy project manger for over 15 years. He was offered a job to move to the truck division, but instead decided to help start up Saturn. Wanna know why he did this? Cause in his words "Chevy trucks are made like crap" "They don't care about their trucks"

hmmm, i think i believe him!

Cool

likelinus,
Your first, Since the days when Saturn started up CHEVY trucks have moved on and redesigned their truck from the ground up. ford used to be #1 but now they are TOYOTA look alikes except TOYOTA came out with their body design first.ford should have copied their engine.
Kjunman, you are correct saying that men and women put them together. But if they work the assembley line all day every day should'nt they at least know the differance between a 1 core and 2 core radiator. DA!!!! also if you read my post you would have read that ford is buying my truck back.
WJT , Last but not forgotton here is the CHEVY problem page where I got my Silverado TSB's from. I got my ford TSB's from this site. I had a hard time scrolling through them there were so many.

Boy all you guys together can't defend that F word
Come on guys you are killing me!!!!!!
From 1999 to 2001 5.4 tritons are still blowing head gaskets. How long does it take to resolve this problem. Let me answer that.
All other manufacturing companies have this process called corrective action.I am in automotive quality engineering field and these major problems ford is denying is pathetic.
Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to crush your dreams.

I admire those that can diagnose with certainty and confidence complex mechanisms by just a couple of sentences alone.

I have noticed that there is always one person who just cant wait to drop in a slam on our Fords. Rj, im glad you like your chevy. I'm also glad you dont like your Ford. I like my Ford. I dont like Chevys. But I dont go around making an **** of myself and proclaim how all the thousands of members on this site are dumb for buying a Ford. Why do you feel that someone has given you the power to tell us what we should and shouldn't do? I dont care if Ford has the most recalls, makes the worst truck, etc. In my opinon, they are the best. Maybe you dont agree. But please, dont infringe your unwanted thoughts upon us. These boards are to help, not disgust. I didn't tell you what to buy. So dont tell me. It just twists my gut to ponder the thought that my fate has been intertwined with a low-life like you.

Again you guys are the best. I never rememberd saying any one is dumb. If it was'nt for this site I would have thought that my f-150 problems were normal characteristics as my dealer insisted. I just want others to be aware of what they can expect when they have problems with their truck. This is an information site. GOOD or BAD comments are welcome.

First off aren't we all missing something here?
Ford sells twice the truck product that Chevy sells. And has had the best selling truck for how many years now? C'mon they are going to have more vehicles come back than Chevy, it's a game of numbers. It all evens out. Ford has more complaints and problems because there are more of them on the road.

RJ,
Your biased cause you had a problem. Others have problems and still prefer Fords. You fail to recognize Ford is better at responding with buy-backs and other offers than most any other manufacturer. Ford Truck owners on this site are more aware of their engines, maybe even overly exhuberent, but a lot of discussion does not make the trucks bad. To say that Ford copied Toyota, ha! just look at the Expedition, they copied 5 years before the Sequoia even came out. They even copied the Tundra engine, GO see for yourself, here is just a sample of the hundreds of posts about their new RUV (RiceUV) from http://www.tundrasolutions.com
:
posted 02-03-2001 12:46 AM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our new Sequoia was quiet for the first 700 miles, then a noise appeared sounding similar to an engine "knock".
The noise is louder in colder weather, diminishes as the engine warms up, but never
quite goes away. We'll be taking it back to the dealer for a diagnosis.
**********************
I have an arbitration coming soon with Toyota and I will let all of you with issues know how did it go.

**************************
I have a service order which says Toyota is aware of the piston noise but no repair on this at this time. the rep told me it was a tolerance issue.
******************
My name is ****, and my tundra sounds like a powerstroke! I am not concerned about it - I have about 50k miles now, and it only does it when its cold outside (below about 50). It made the same noises last winter, and now it's doing it again. My last toyota made this noise for close to 200k miles. I would rather live with it than have the motor taken apart.

zoiks, before this thread get's closed, i think znstr should still get a few more opinions.

I have noticed this sound on my truck too - but it died when i did a couple things:

Just before I changed to Mobil 1 5w30, I ran some of that CD-2 stuff for about 25kms. Then i dumped the oil, tossed in some synthetic and voila, it's gone.

one thing to note, I was having this problem around mid jan - when it was -35 here.

hth.
