This pic was in an auto magazine not long ago. Has a lot of the traits from the tonka. At first i didn't like it, buts its growing on me. While these magazines usually over do what the trucks will look like, so do concepts as someone said. Dodge came out with the new PowerWagon in 97 and the MaxxCab in like 00 before it settled in between. I'm going to agree that the Powerforce was probably a pre-current style SuperDuty design. The new F150 is NOT "supposed" to have the expedition front because its too "tame" is what someone from ford said on blueovalnews.com a while back. Again however, we wont know til we see more pics and eventually see the final product. We can always have fun taking guesses tho!

STX/98,

Im with you on the new truck looks. I don't like the new dodge either. The new chevy isnt too bad though, compared to what it replaced at least. These manufacturers have to keep changing up the look of these things to stay ahead of the game. They are now dealing with a slightly different bunch of buyers as teh ones a few years ago. They have to change them so they don't look "old". I hate the way they all got sissied up. None of the new trucks have that "holy cow, now THATS a truck" look to them. 94-01 Dodge had it, the Ford JUST before the 97 had it, and Chevy sort of had it. Hell, i kinda like the "box" everyone used to have. It road and looked like a pickup.

that thing is sweet-looking! only bad thing is that it wouldnt make a good sport truck because of its rugged look, but i like it a lot more than the current design! 2 thumbs up...

The new dodge has grown on me atleast to some extent.. The painted front end and billett grill do more for that truck than just about any other vehicle I've seen! Without it, I'm pretty unimpressed. I think last year's Dodge Sport Offroad was the best looking Dodge ever made... As far as the new Chevy goes, they've just never grown on me... I thought they were boxy and cheap looking when they came out, and not much has really changed... I think Chevy's 98 model was a considerably better looking truck.. Now that there going to that Avalance look for next year, I don't think there's much hope! Talk about not growing on ya! That Avalanche is just auful from every angle... I still can't emagine anyone would pay 35 grand for one of those!

I like that look!
Just imagine that thing with a 6in lift and 35's on it!!
I'm not a fan of the 97-02 f150 look, but if this is the next gen F150 then I'm going to trade the beast in for a 2004 F-1-Fity!

I certainly have to agree with you. Every time I see an Avalanche, I cringe in pain. The plastic glares at me, "Ugly Ugly Ugly!" I didn't know they were that much.
And then GM went along and made the Cadillac version ... ye gods, what on earth is America coming to when they buy crap like that? I'm going to laugh in 4 years when the plastic parts on those poor Caddilac Avalanches are falling off and all scratched up. We'll see then what people think of them.

(In case you can't tell, I absolutely abhor the Avalanche )

EDIT: Apparently I can't spell, sorry
