Could you be a litle more specific regarding the "Engine Number". If you are refering to the VIN number that is stamped on the engine block, I have to admit that I do not know exactly where it is stamped. I am sure that someone will be along with an answer soon.
What year is your f-150? The year may be needed to locate the number. Also, there is usually a sticker that is on the drivers side valve cover that may have the info that you are looking for.

Question

If you do mean the VIN # (the # that tells you where/when truck was made, the weight rating, body style, engine size/type, etc.) try looking on your dash at the very bottom on the drivers side, from outside the windshield. In this country & Canada, they insert a little metal plate with the VIN # in that corner of the dash. It may be hard to see - it's almost where the dash ends but it should be visible if you stand above it & look down. Hope this helps! Tell us more about your truck too!
