Question Information

Is there a website I can go to that tells me if there are any outstanding recalls on my 1997 F250 LD by just using the VIN number?

Also, is there a place you can get a list of all the original factory options that were included on it when it was new?

try ford.com. while their site is still under development, you can plug in your VIN for recalls and tsb's. you can also download a copy of your owners manual in .pdf format.they are currently working on a section that will list your "vehicle sticker" with what came on your ford from the factory.

Not by VIN. The Ford "owners" section is nice idea, but it failed to list any recalls for my vehicle by VIN. The window sticker thingy doesn't work either.

There have been at least 3 recalls that affect my vehicle, so I don't believe the Ford site is very helpful.

Try the guys that actually force the recall, your buddy the federal governnment at NHTSA: http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov

And on your options, look at the door sill - that sticker has a code that lists some options, down to interior color and radio. See Ford to decipher code.
