I have some questions for you about your truck and the pros and cons of the superchip. Our trucks are identical other than color and I am curious if the heavier trucks gain a noticable amount of power with the chip. Please send me your email address to harleyrider@peoplepc.com

The superchip is well worth the money. I could see an immediate improvement in shifting and engine power. I have owned several high performance fords over the years and the chip is by far the best single improvement of any mods.
I see you have a HD soft-tail I installed an Andrews cam and Hyper-charger air cleaner with K&N filter and Porker Pipes on my fatboy. The superchip on a percentage basis is as good of increase as tne Andrews and Hypercharger together was on the harley

just a reminder that fuse that you are talking about, the one to leave out, well it powers your altenator circuit and since none of the guages are on you wont see that your altenator is not charging
Not That I am supporting doing this but think about all you people that did a rear and or tire change. so know you got a truck that is regestering 3 to 10% more miles because ford does not support modification for this change. Just something to think about. BTW I know GM stores miles in the equil of the gem.
My truck has an easy 2 to 3k on it due to all the time it was close to 20% off. take the 3k and times it by 10 to 20 cent a mile and tell me what is fair. Please not flames just think about it

I have nothing to support this theory, but in my previous car (99 Honda Accord) I put white gauges in. While the entire cluster was out, I drove to the store to get some elec. tape and some butt connectors. When I plugged the cluster back in, the digital odometer registered the trip to the store. I think the the computer actually keeps track of the mileage. It almost has to. What if you have to have your cluster replaced under warranty, or out? Do they have to reprogram the new cluster to your actual mileage. That would be stupid. What would be the purpose of having the dig. odo. then? Also, if the Ford service techs are doing this to these vehicles, I am always buying new vehicles. No telling how many miles are on these things. Just my $0.02 for the day.

first off, yes you can do the fuse thing on 97 and 98s, not on the new ones since they are digital. And its not messing with the odomiter, its messing with the insturment cluster fuse. YOur not toching the odeomerter at all, you can't be responsible for a fuse burning out in your truck and because of a bad design the computer won't read the miles you are putting on. By the way, I know a tun of people that have done this on there 97s and 98s.

Um, HELLO ! Isn't that a federal law that if you sell a vehicle with a tampered odomoter??
you know that part when you transfer that says I certify that the milage acurately reflects.....
I won't buy used from dealerships either, too many service techs do it to there own vehicles on the leases and do it for the sales people as well. I know a GM/Chevy tech who racked up almost TRIPLE the milage he was alloted on his lease ( had probably 90,000 showed 24,000 2nd set of tires !) but had a "switch" that turned off ODO/speedo. It's actually easier now with the computers to disconnect or switch the wire. Course this Chevy Tech also puts Z71 DECALS on his 2WD trucks ( DumbA$$) Says he does "switch" on all of his veh and several others.
OH and if you make a Phone call to sell, or Mail for your title The Feds will get you for Mail/wire fraud also .

Jefflaws,
All I can say is, I hope you one day end up with a mis-read odometer!!! What comes around, goes around. You're a crook.
