Dont' get Headers

I hate to admit it, but I wasted time and money in getting the headers. After having the superchip, exhaust system and cold-air intake, the header upgrade is just not felt. I'm sure it delivers the 10-12 HP it promises, but after getting to around 300 HP, you don't feel a 3-4% HP increase. Installation is a bear if you do it yourself, which I did. Mine are on the truck and they are not coming off, but I can't recommend them.

Save up for a Supercharger or buy something real nice for your significant other.

i will save for my significant other when i get one. lol. Sorry to hear about you headers, you are not the first to complain about the small amount of increased performance. but i figure that when i get a sc i will need them. Actually, almost all the things mentioned in this thread i plan on getting sooner or later. anyways, how do you like your "poweraid" mod. is it worth the money?

You can add the Poweraid mod in the same category with the headers. I would rather have my $100 for something else. Again, once you have the superchip, exhaust system and revised air intake it's very difficult to notice smaller gains. The Poweraid was installed after those three and there were no noticeable differences, except for a little whistle when accelerating. After that the JBA headers were installed. Again no noticeable HP gains. It's possible that if those two were done first that you would notice them, but I didn't after doing the first three. I've read real good things about JBA headers and how they drastically improve exhaust gas flow, but if I were planning on getting a Supercharger I would buy it first and then get the headers. No reason to spend $600 before laying down $4K plus if you are not certain you're getting a S/C.

As you know with all these mods, you have to ask yourself what is your goal. If you want the fastest 0-60 times or just to tell your friends you get XXX HP from your truck, etc. then adding headers and a throttle body spacer would be something to get at some point. However, if you're like me and just want mods to give you that extra "seat of the pants" difference over stock then I would save your hard earned cash for a S/C.
