5.0 to 5.4 swap

Can I still use the same trans and computer to swap my 5.0 to a 5.4 in my 92 f-150? Are there any books that can help me on the subject?

for the amount of investment vs. headaches, chasing gremlins, etc. not worth it IMHO.

or the same $$, rebuild the 5.0 and toss on a blower or build/buy a stoker moter, and some good heads and keep the current computer config. Lots of 5.0 parts kicking around.

if you are gonna swap a 5.0 for something put in a 351. 302 to 351 conversions have been done a lot and there is a lot of stuff out there to make it work... its done buy mustang guys every day and i assume that a 5.0 to 351 in a truck shouldn't be much different... plus there are a lot of good deals on 351 engines.

Yikes!

I agree with Speedin Bob, the 351 add's torgue and gas consupmtion, the 5.0 is more than enough displacement.....all you need to do is add some go fast parts to get the numbers you want.

Sorry Peabraine, I have to agree w/ these guys. The bolt up parts of the project would be easy but the elctronics and other little odds and ends would kill you! It would be easier to build a car from scratch than to make 5.4 fit your truck.

the 5.0 is a sweet motor and the world is littered w/ go fast parts for them. Develop the motor you already have and you'll get more results w/ less time, effort, and money.

Good Luck.
