what to do with $450. please help.

hey guys,

i am looken for some suggestions of what to do with my money. I have roughly $450 dollars to work with. I am looking for performance products, not appearance products. so far i have a chip, exhaust, and intake (see sig). what would you guys do next with this budget. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Send the money in small unmarked bills to my address.

Actually $450 could get you a nitrous system, or headers, or underdrive pullies, or a hi-performance MAF sensor. If you didn't do headers with your exhaust that would be your best bet. If you go with a new MAF your chip might have to be re-burned. The pullies are a good investment if you don't mind losing some alternator output. Nitrous is the most fun but it only works in short bursts

Edlbrock IAS Performer shocks!

The best $300 I've ever spent on a performance mod.

webmaster- i know. if it was not my own post I would have said it myself.

thewhiteford- your right, i am going to need the money for the s/c. but that is going to be my last performance mod. i want to take care of everything else first.

crazedf1 - i am for sure going to get sway bars in the future. but as for right now i think i am going to go for some more straight line performance. i think i might be addicted.

LE PEW - forgive me for my ignorance. i do not know if i have limited slip, let alone know what it actually does. but if it is a option...i am guessing no.

and last but not least,

max mitchell - about the electric fans...what kind of performance gain would i see? (rough ballpark) and what kind or model would you suggest.

thanks again guys.

LBC150-

You see solid gains in performance from removing that much rotating mass. I don't have dyno charts or exact reductions on the 6-cylinder, but most of the kits for 5.4s claim 15-18HP, removing 11-12lbs rotating mass, and 1-2 mpg. Another that I saw claims 12HP and 15ft/lbs of torque. It's a great mod and my seat-o-meter says well worth the time/effort/money. Perma-cool, Flex-a-lite, Hayden, and Spal make universal fans that you can use 2 of; 14"-16" depending on cfm. Many here use the suggested Ford update that Matt recommends. Flex-a-lite and Perma-cool both have a kit with a release date of March that comes in a dual kit, pre-wired, with shroud, etc. The Perma-cool is called "Cool Pack II" and the Flex-a-lite is number "270"; both have variable temperature and the "270" has variable fan speed.
