Not sure what involves the change....

On an Expy....If it is anything like the F-150 and in the same spot then go to auto Zone, or whatever you have out there and get the kit. There are like 6 diffrent size's of tools for the sizes of the lines on these fords.....then follow the picture and it is a chinch....be sure to bleed off the fuel pressure on the fuel rail....hope this helps....and the kit here iin Tx was only 12 dollars or so...cheap, and you will use it again....'

The following link has some great pictures and instructions for changeing the fuel filter

http://www.f150world.com/fuelfilter.asp

I found the exact removal tool pictured for $5.99 at one of the cheap chain stores. Was able to change the filter in under 2 minutes, includeing flipping the fuel cutoff switch, releaving the fuel pressure.

The cheapest place to get a motorcraft filter I've found is...

http://www.fordpartsonline.com/

Have fun.

Hell no, I'm a wimp....hehehhehe. After reading here how much of a pain is was to change the fuel filter, I was expecting the worst. bought the right tool, read what I could. It turned out to be so easy I thought something was wrong. Still can't figure out what everyone was whining about????

Great info!

Thanks for the post & the links! I have a question - do you suggest using a Motorcraft filter? Is there a better one? The reason I ask is I just found out I have the original fliter on my '97 - just turned 67K miles! The previous owner was so good at caring for the truck I never thought the filter was neglected! Any suggestions for when I replace it like injector cleaner? Thanks in advance!
