"Check Engine" light
I have changed my fuel filter twice and that bracket has been meaner than a junk yard dog both times. Place a rag on the frame around the filter to soak up the fuel that drips from the filter when you get it loos from the mighty bracket. I have used the Auto Zone plastic disconnect tools and they seemed to work okay but won't last as long as a good metal one.

Changing your fuel filter is very important. I change mine every 2nd oil change. I also use a good fuel injector cleaner every 4th tank of gas. Clean injectors are the key to keeping your miledge and performance up. There is so much junk in these tanks at the gas station, you can't be too careful!
On a side note, get a locking gas cap too. Someone put valve grinding compound in my buddies truck and it wiped the motor.

So how often really should you change fuel filter? I am about to hit 15,000 miles
My Check engine light came on, the truck is still under warranty obviously, but If it's routine maintanance I'm doing it myself.
I clean my K&N every oil change ( not over oiling the K&N) My check engine light came on after tank was almost empty ( fuel light was on) and then I went and fueled up.( it actually light up after I pulled away from gas station. Code did not clear even after driving a half tank out of it and refueling. ( same day) I just havent been able to get in to the dealer here to have it checked.
I think I'll just replace Fuel filter ( no telling how bad it is with the gas around here) and see what happens. I did try to manually clear code and after waking up the neighbors in the morning with alarm ( DOH!) when reconnecting the battery it was still there. ( PS I even removed Super chip and drove 50 miles/ 3 starts normal No change)
PS How do you get the computer to tell you the error codes with out a reader? I can do the Ignition key thing but what are the codes again please?

Sounds like you checked the most obvious problems.
The next most obvious problem is REPLACE the EGO sensor. They only last 60-80,000 miles. It is a consummable item with a finite life and it will cause your CHECK ENGINE light to come on intermittently at first, then eventually the light will stay on.
It kills me that a Ford dealership will not come out and tell their customers to replace this item around 75,000 miles. For $50, you can't go wrong. It can be replaced in 15 minutes and will solve most of these complaints.
Good luck.
