Question Is Airaid Emission Legal?

I've been thinking about buying the Airaid kit. Has anyone had problems passing their states emission test? Someone told me that the Airaid kit may not pass emission test in NC.

emissions wise it should not make any diffrence beacuse I have a cold air intake on my truck and it did not do anything to the emissions. But on the saftey portion of the inspection it depends on which state you are in. I am a state inspector in texas and I will tell you that it will (or should not) pass the inspection in texas. I would recommend you find a local inspection station and ask them yourself since your state laws are diffrent.

Your answer confused me (which is easy to do). Are you telling us that it will pass inspection, will not pass inspection or should not pass inspection?

Question

I recently e-mailed all of the FIPK makers, and ask all of them if their system is 50-state CARB certified. The only one that told me they were was K&N. AirAid told me that they were not.

What I am trying to say is that it SHOULD NOT PASS, but some inspectors really don't care and pass it any way. Today at work I called the D.P.S. and checked out the laws and as I said it SHOULD NOT PASS. I can understand how I could confuse you (I did it to myself just reading what I wrote). But also you haft to consider diffrent state laws beacuse what could fail in Texas could pass is say Kansas or whatever. Hopefully you can get the idea. sorry about the confusion.

Exclamation

My K&N Generation II came with a CARB exemption tag. I can also say, though not the the most polished looking it installed flawlessly, matches my 4.6L engine nicely and still looks plenty awsome. Also noticeable performance improvement and fine throaty gargle now comes from under the hood when I punch it.
For the best price I could find, check CarPartsOnSale.com. Got it there for $146.94 delivered to the east coast.
