Here's what you do: You challenge him to a race for his Daughter(your Wife!). Remind him that if he wins she will move back into the house and live with him. You win she stays with you. Any kids involved go to the winner also. That should do it!

Both trucks are 4x4's. The chevy has 265/75-16's. My Ford has 245's. He kills me off the line, tires burning I might add, and finishes about two to three truck lengths ahead.
Unfortunatly, Ford doesn't offer 4.10 gears. I had to buy the 7700lbs. package just to get 3.73's. Changing gearing in new 4x4 is not fun. And you guys think the milage is bad with 3.55's!

Cool

Guys it will be closer than what you think.

A friend of mine just bought a 2000 GMC (Ext. Cab) 4x4 with the 5.3 and 3.55 gears. It felt pretty strong on a ride but when he started to talk trash and said that the 5.4 was a weak motor, that was it. Race time. He was joking with me in front of everyone stating that he would spot me a couple lengths to make it fair. I told him lets go and shut up.

My big 99 EB Expy w/ 5.4 and 3.55's surprised both of us. I thought that he would kill me because of the weight and hp advantage that he had. Only thing I have changed is a K&N and I run Mobil 1 in it.

Well, we where dead even until 40 and then he started to pull away slowly. At 75, my front end was by the rear of his cab.

I am sure that a PU weighs less than a Expy, so have fun

Not exactly, he will not run all over you. The Ford will run right by his side or in front of him. And give your truck some time, the tranny has to learn your driving habits.

*****,

You having the 7700 package and 3:73 gears, he should beat you stock. But with you have the superchip alone, you should be running with him easily, or beating him.
Actually though, someone I know had a 97' F150, same model as mine, that beat a 98' F150 Supercab with the 5.4l.

Been reading quite a bit about superchargers but is anyone running 50-100hp nitrous on a 5.4l?

2001 super crew on order, build date 5-15.

Silver 4X4,

Contact me by e-mail if you can as I am from Columbia, Ill. too! I know what you need and you can drive my truck before you buy a chip. It will show you the difference it makes. I'm in the phone book also. Look for the user name on my plates.

*****,

If the F-150 you have at work, is the one you have as a sig then this would make it an F-250 LD of old. So to compare it to a Silverado 1500 is uneven. The 4.10 gears make a heck of a difference too. Apples to oranges.... I beat a Sylverado the other day with my 5200lbs brick, so they are not invinceable.

Regards

Silver 4X4, any evening after 6...tonight I will be putting my rotors and brakes back on(I hope their ready) at my dads house. Had a heck of a time taking them off last night. Drivers side rotor was stuck. Took the whole damn thing apart and now my dad is going to take the rotor/hub to get the rotor pressed off and turned.
