Question

Well I got my Poweraide(aka Whistle Box) last Friday and put it in right away and drove it today for a good distance at different hwy speeds. This thing is not quite when there is the slightest change on the accelerator, either increase or decrease. The aluminum construction really makes this thing hit some high tones, I think it's the air moving over the helix threads. I would say there is some gain in throttle response at the varying RMP ranges. I am trying to determine how to muffle the sound with some sort of insulation type tape.

SS97Ford, it was July or so since your last post and I'm wondering if you still have it and if it's still worth it. Sounds like there are a lot of bad comments about the noise, but the torque improvements are worthy. I do have the Airaid and a Gibson, but it sounds like the noise will still be easy to hear.

I was watching the "Horsepower TV" show on TNN a week or two ago and they showed these spacers. There were two designs, a single large hole like the Poweraid, and another design that featured 4 smaller holes. The guy said the 4 smaller hole design was built for better torque on the low end, something that is desirable. I wonder if the 4 hole design also solves the whistle problem found in the Poweraid?

The only thing that makes me a little skeptical of this is the Pontiac Fiero had a similar setup from the factory. Where's the swirl TB now?

Cool

Someone was a way ahead of me on this one. I was just looking at one of these for my truck was going to ask about it. Anybody have it on a pre-'97 truck (preferably 302), and if so, how does it fair to the comments here.

I am looking forward to the reply about the poweraid. If its only a hundred bucks and makes the kind of improvements the other guys are talking about, it sounds good.
