Dustoff,
You have to remember that this is only the 2nd year of the new chevys and the fourth for the new fords. I remember looking the fords up the first two years and they had a bunch of problems themselves. It takes time to iron out problems and I'm sure when chevy hits its fourth year of production that alot of these initial problems will be solved. I'm not here to bash fords because I think they are a good truck. The main reason I chose a chevy two years ago was that I just liked how the chevy looked better compared to the ford. To me, the people who bash other brands of trucks while their brand has as many problems, doesn't have much credibility. My 98 ext-cab Z-71 chevy is far from perfect. The brakes suck, I don't like the plastic dash and I wish it had a fourth door, but it has been very reliable with only a few small problems. It hasn't seen the inside of the dealer service dept. in about a year. There are good and bad in every brand.

andrew s,
I do get it, you are scared of the truth thats why you don't try to show some proof to support your case. Maybe you need to analize yourself. I'm still waiting for an intelligent post from you. I hope I don't have to wait too long.

Well, I work at the largest foundry in the world. It happens to be the General Motors plant in Defiance Ohio. Our specialty, engines blocks, cranks, and heads. And, their are some serious problems with the 5.3.

They should have gone with OHC. The engines have a problem with breaking rocker arms. Curious though, most of the mechanics around drive FORDS.
