Question

msparks..

Sounds good...but what is the source of your info? I know that FRAM claims to be higher than some of these..not that I use them anymore.

I got Amsoil/pur1/hard driver from Amsoil.com
I got Mobil 1 from the mobil site http://www.exxon.mobil.com/mobil1_ra...ter/index.html

I don't know about the fram, just from the talk on here and other places.

Though I wouldn't worry too much on the capacity part of the equasion, unless you are interested in the extended drains and such,
Then the Amsoil filter is good for 6months or 12500 miles whichever comes first.

All of the filters mentioned have plenty of capacity to hold the dirt and stuff for the 3,000 miles.

more info.

Fram Extra guard:The FRAM Extra Guard filter performs at an unprecedented
96.2% efficiency in the single-pass efficiency tests. The
average efficiency rating for other leading brands is only
74.6%

Taken from this site: http://www.fram.com/extraguard.html

Maybe they are getting with the program!

Though it doesn't list their capacity, The filtration effeciency is better than Amsoils.
I have used the tough guard before with no problems.
The filtering media is the same stuff as in the Amsoils, So I guess it would be comparable. Does anyone know the price?
